Mike Grabarek is a leadership and
organization effectiveness consultant who has over 12 years of
experience at GE Crotonville, General Electrics' corporate university,
and at a major electric utility. His background encompasses
work with global companies at their locations throughout North
America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He
helps organizations navigate change, as well as manage and develop
their talent. In his consulting work, he draws on his extensive
experience with companies from many different industries.
Mike started his career as an aerospace
engineer at General Electric. While there, he designed
ballistic missile components, underwater acoustic simulations
for submarines, and other related systems. After that, he spent
five years at GE Crotonville. During the first half of
this time, he headed up GE's North American masters degree program
in engineering, and designed and delivered several of GE's entry
level leadership programs world-wide. Mike spent the final
two and a half years in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia partnering
with GE's business leaders, joint venture partners, and strategic
customers to help them increase their productivity and growth
using GE's Work-Out, Change Acceleration Process, Continuous
Process Improvement, and Best Practice methodologies.
Mike spent several years at a large
electric utility during the deregulation of the industry, partnering
with the senior leadership team to develop and implement a leadership
and employee development strategy. He also led the staffing
and quality organizations during part of this time. Mike
is an active presenter at conferences on change management and
leadership development, and has been a guest lecturer at Tulane,
Auburn and Texas A&M. His
work was also published in Knowledge @ Wharton. He
is the author of Navigating Significant Change©, a comprehensive
web-based tool-kit for teams involved in change.
Mike holds a BS degree in electrical
engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MS degree
in electrical engineering from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. He is also a graduate
of GE’s Advanced Course in Engineering and Edison Engineering
Programs.
During his spare time, Mike
enjoys flying single engine planes, riding his BMW motorcycle, investing in the stock market, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and hiking in the mountains near his home in Santa Fe, NM. |
